SHS Students Reopen January 5th: GES Confirms Final Calendar

The Ghana Education Service (GES) confirmed the reopening date. All Senior High School (SHS) students return on January 5th. This applies to all tracks and academic levels. Full attendance is expected by management.

Transitional School Key Dates

Form 3 students report on January 5, 2026. Their first period ends on March 31, 2026. The Easter break is from April 1st to April 8th. They report back on April 9th. The term ends for Form 3 on June 21, 2026.

Form 2 students also report on January 5th. Their on-campus time runs until March 15th. Mandatory online learning begins March 16th. This phase ends on April 17th. Their vacation runs until May 17th. They return to campus on May 18th. The academic year ends September 4, 2026.

Form 1 begins mandatory online learning January 5th. Their first vacation begins January 31st. They report to school on March 16th. This on-campus period ends May 17th. Another online phase runs until June 12th. Final vacation is from June 13th to July 2nd. They report for their final period on July 3rd.

Single Track Calendar Confirmed

All Single Track students report on January 5, 2026. Their first period ends on February 27th. They observe a break until May 3rd. They return to campus on May 4th.

Forms 1 and 2 end their academic year on August 21st.

Form 3 has a shorter second break until March 13th. They report back March 14th. Their academic year ends June 21, 2026.

Mandatory Online Component

The off-campus time is not a student vacation. It is dedicated to mandatory online learning. The GES urges full student participation. Resources are available via MoE TV.

WASSCE Private Exam Dates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will hold private examinations soon. This first series is scheduled for January/February 2026. This allows candidates to improve prior grades. The precise timetable can be downloaded from the WAEC portal.

Registration Deadline Crucial

Students must prioritize registration immediately. The deadline to register for this series is 5th January, 2026. Registration is biometric and requires a valid email. Candidates must capture their fingerprints at designated centres.
