Simple Guide To Greatness: Be A Channel Of Blessings To Others; Don’t Pay Evil For Evil.
Simple Guide To Greatness: Be A Channel Of Blessings To Others; Don’t Pay Evil For Evil.
SO FAR THIS WEEK
By the grace of God, we have discussed the topic an ever-present help throughout the week. We came to understand that the Lord is always with us through it all, he never abandons his people. We got to know that we must as a matter of importance never give up in life and ministry for help is on the way.
Also, we learned that we have a friend and a companion in the Lord. He is our ever-present help. He also gives a lasting analgesic to the pains of this life. He is Immanuel, meaning he is with us through thick and thin.
Then we learned also that the arm of the Lord is sweet and thus it brings victory to his children. We, therefore, owe Him all the praise due to him for the victory guaranteed in him. God bless you!
Prayer Guide: May we run to you for comfort on the day of turbulence.
Memory Verse For This Week: Psalms 46:1 (NIV) – “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
BE A CHANNEL OF BLESSING
Scripture reading: Genesis 12:1-3
From generation-to-generation God always needs a medium through which his glory will be seen in the whole world. In God’s plan, *His method has always been humans* right from the beginning. God blessed the first *MAN* to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:22).
After the scattering of God’s people in the whole world when they had decided to build the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9), God needed a man through whom He could portray His glory to all. He found in the family of Terah, Abram, who was graced to be a channel of blessing through whom the whole world will be blessed. In our reading, we observed that after Abram’s election, God gave him his word “Now the Lord said to Abram” and out of obedience he heeded as the Lord instructed.
It is not enough to believe in God you must position yourself to
obey everything He tells you, whether simple or complex.
As we comply with divine instructions, He will make us into a great nation causing his blessings to follow us wherever we are and since He has a great name; He will also make our name great. This week, see a bigger picture of what the Lord has made you and decide to position yourself well to be a channel of blessing to your home, family, friends, church, the nation, and the world at large.
Prayer: Great Lord, help me to be a channel of blessings to all sundry who need help. Amen!
Memory Verse
Genesis 12:3(NIV) “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
A CHANNEL OF BLESSING TO THE FAMILY
scripture reading Genesis 12:7
As God’s call came to Abram with its soothing promises attached, he left in obedience taking along with him, his nephew Lot as well as his wife. Although God did not state emphatically that he should go with his nephew, Abraham as a channel of blessing saw the need to go with Lot. God’s blessing to Abram had become a great opportunity for the family to receive God’s grace.
From our reading, it says in verse 4, “So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions…….”
We should seek God’s voice on how he expects us to carry out His assignment. Is He requesting us to invite other people into the vision or the time is not ripe for an outdooring of the vision? Whatever the case may be, we need to hear God. Abraham knew what the Lord has endowed him with and hence didn’t hesitate to help Lot. The man of God appropriated the word of God in Proverbs 3:27 “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due when it is in your power to act”.
God has made you good for you to be good to others. Your good is only beneficial when it’s extending to others. If your good deeds do not extend to others, then it’s not good. Forget about the uncomfortable experiences you have had with some family members and begin to identify some “Lots” in the family and as a channel of blessing opens your arms to them It is for this purpose that God calls us, that when we are blessed, others also should be blessed through us.
Prayer Guide: Help me Lord Jesus to be a team player who would possess my family as well as neighbors positively.
