Special Prosecutor Arrests Deputy Education Minister Over Bribery

According to a local media report, the Deputy Minister of Education in Charge of Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Prof Kingsley Nyarko has been arrested by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

In a latest Ghana Education News , it is recognized that the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical, Vocational Education and Training ( TVET), has been arrested by the Special Prosecutor of Ghana.

As sighted by thisterm.com, the report stated that the office of the Special Prosecutor has begun an investigation into the Alleged corrupt moves by Prof. Kingsley Nyarko.

Kingsley Nyarko also holds the Position of an MP in Kwadaso. It is alleged that the MP was involved in election malpractices during the Ejisu by-election plus some temporary staff of the Electoral Commission.

“The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Professor Kingsley Nyarko, has been involved in a situation that has led to his arrest by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP)

The OSP has begun inquiries into alleged corruption related to a public election involving the Kwadaso MP and some temporary Election Commission (EC) staff during the Ejisu by-election,” the news report stated.

The Current President of Ghana , Nana Akufo-Addo, appointed Prof. Kingsley Nyarko as Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) after the President’s dismissal of Gifty Twum-Ampofo early this year.

In compliance with Ghana’s article 78, 79, and 256 of the Constitution, Nana Akufo-Addo has submitted new names for appointment as Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State to Parliament for approval before the reorganisation.

He is also the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency, a constituency located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
