The Court of Barcelona recently granted him release on bail, marking a significant development in the ongoing case. This decision comes amid a backdrop of intense scrutiny and public interest, given Alves’s prominence in the football world.

The bail amount set by the court stands at a staggering one million euros, a figure designed to ensure Alves’s compliance with the conditions of his release. One of the primary conditions is the surrender of both his Brazilian and Spanish passports, effectively confining him to the borders of Spain. This measure aims to prevent any potential flight from justice and underscores the seriousness of the allegations against him.

Despite being sentenced to a substantial term of four and a half years in prison for the alleged assault, Alves now has the opportunity to secure his release by meeting the bail requirements and abiding by strict protocols. These protocols include regular reporting to the Provincial Court of Barcelona and maintaining a significant distance from the alleged victim and places associated with her.
