First Licence you need is called the learner driver’s licence
A Learner Driver’s Licence has to be acquired for a period of three (3) months before the actual licence could be applied for.
REQUIREMENTS
- Physical presence of applicant at any DVLA office
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Basic education (BECE) or Adult Education, Ability to read and write
- Pictures
PROCEDURE
- Applicant must Purchase and completion of Forms F and F1
- Applicant must go through the Physical examination and eye test
- Applicant must make payment and be issued with a Learner Driver’s Permit, L-Plate, Syllabus and Highway Code
- Undergo a compulsory 48-hour training with a DVLA accredited driving school
- Get your biometric information captured and get scheduled for written test
- Then take the written exams (Computer-Based Test)
- After the above test, you have to do the Oral examination
- The oral exam is followed by the In- Traffic Test
- Once you pass the test above, you are directed to make payment of Driver’s Licence and P-Plate fees
- Your data is captured for the Driver’s Licence
- Issuance of Temporary Driver’s Licence and P-Plate is done.
- Issuance of Driver’s Licence after 90 days.
