The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has already released the final timetables for the 2024 BECE and WASSCE to be held in July and August, respectively. As part of this publication, we have made available for candidates the timetables for the two examinations.
For many candidates, all they are interested in is having a timetable. Still, those who download these must also use the final timetables as a guide to preparing for their pending examination.
Let us carefully look at how to use the WASSCE timetable to prepare.
- Identify all your core subjects and elective dates and times, and write them in a book according to which you will write first, second, and in that order.
- After the above, use the subjects to create a personal timetable. WAEC has a very good reason for the order in which you are going to write the respective subjects.
- Use the order of the subjects to create your study schedule table. If you intend to study two subjects a day, you can put together two subjects that follow each other; however, if both are mathematics-related and may pose a challenge, do well to consider that.
- Break your timetable into early morning, morning, afternoon, and evening sections based on your school activities. Because you will be in school most of the day, early morning (dawn) and evening (after school) personal study must be the best options.
- You can also indicate the topics you want to study for each subject each week before the start of the week to keep your studies more organized and focused. This way, you can measure your progress and be happy with your study.
- Use any sample questions as a guide as you prepare.

- Since WAEC has already done all the work for you by parsing the subjects you will write each day during the examination, you can follow the same schedule. This means, for instance, that on Mondays, you will study English and RME together.
