A teacher who crossed legal and ethical boundaries and ended up fondling a female student has been handed a 7 years jail term for the crime.
The teacher, Mr. Idowu Daniel, was found guilty by the court for abusing a 16-year-old student s3xually at the school where he works. His sentence was handed to him on Monday after the final court hearing.
Mr. Idowu Daniel carried out his crime in the biology lab at Anastasia Comprehensive College, Abule-Egba, Ikeja,
Mr. Idowu Daniel, the defendant, was accused of defilement by the plaintiff at the start of the case in court. However, the plaintiff failed to appear in court to provide testimony and the needed proof for her defence.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo in the absence of the plaintiff and the needed evidence to prove the charge of defilement against the convicted person let the court slap a 7 years jail term on the suspect for fondling.
The judge argued that the defendant’s voluntarily confessing in court showed that he sexually molested the sixteen-year-old. During the hearing of the case in court, the defendant revealed that he touch the victim’s breast and also attempted to have s3x with her, but he failed to all because the victim was still a virgin.
She declared, “The defendant is hereby found guilty of the accusation of sexual assault of a child.”
The defendant after the court had passed judgment pleaded for leniency.

“My Lord, I sincerely apologize for what occurred. I swear it won’t happen again,” the convicted person assured the judge.
However, Mr. Idowu Daniel was accused of the provocative manner in which he caressed the minor. The judge argued that if the minor had spoken in court, Mr. Idowu Daniel would have earned a life sentence.
“You are a teacher, and you touched your student’s breast. If the victim had appeared in court to testify, the judge would have sentenced you to life in jail.
The plea of Mr. Idowu Daniel was not taken, and it rather caused the judge to change her mind and increase the sentence from 5 years to 7 years without a fine.
