The scholarship aims at ensuring all students who have gained admission to the university or any tertiary institutions are not left behind due to financial constraints.
The Tertiary Financial Support to first-year students will help students who gained admission but have not been able to report to school due to the fees. He announced prior to the election that 25 best WASSCE students awarded will be awarded full scholarship n his constituency.
The scholarship is meant for only students in the North Tongu Constituency.
In a post by the MP on his Twitter and Facebook pages, he wrote :
All fresh students of my beloved North Tongu Constituency not covered by the North Tongu MP’s Scholarship programme and facing financial challenges in these last days of registration as tertiary institutions commence a new academic year should make contact with the following numbers of our ONSTASH task team for immediate support.
The question that has arisen from his continued show of concern for the wellbeing of the people of the constituency is what are other members of parliament doing for their youth.
