Dr. Rosemond Wilson,The Head of the Ghana National Office (HNO) of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) conducted a survey at some Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centers in Accra .
She was accompanied by other officers, including the Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi. she declared that all supervisors and invigilators should allow the candidates perform independent work.
The BECE was scheduled to take place from Monday 4th,May,2026 and end on Monday 11th May,2026.
This includes Monday, 4th May: English Language (Essay & Objective) and Religious and Moral Education.
Tuesday, 5th May: Social Studies & Creative Arts and Design,
Wednesday, 6th May: Science & Career Technology,

BUY TOP 2026 BECE MOCKS AND ANSWERSWAEC stated that a total of about 620,141 candidates are anticipated to write this year’s BECE. This includes 156 other candidates from Togo and Benin according to statistics made available.
Five schools from Togo and Benin participating in the examination will take the examination at one center. The Togo and Benin schools writing the BECE in Ghana “run our curriculum, and so they are eligible to write”
In addition,Dr, Wilson said four candidates were spotted to have been involved in examination malpractice.
At the Accra Girls SHS Centre, four candidates including two who were twins, had exchanged their answer booklets, with the elderly one answering the questions for the younger one.
The other two also exchanged papers.The matter would be thoroughly investigated, and if they were found guilty, the subject paper would be cancelled.
The candidates where made to fill out irregularity forms.
Dr. Wilson said” once the candidates had been prepared for the examination, they would pass.” Questions were set from the syllabus. Therefore ,candidate should do independent work.
