Tragedy At Dormaa SHS: 19-Year-Old Student Dies Over Abortion

In a deeply unsettling incident, the community of Dormaa Ahenkro is mourning the loss of 19-year-old Abigail Kyeremaa, a student at Dormaa Senior High School, who tragically passed away in circumstances connected to an alleged abortion.
This distressing event underscores profound concerns about reproductive health and safety among young people, casting a somber shadow over the community.
On the evening of April 9, 2024, according to DGN Online, Kyeremaa Matilda, 40, accompanied by Nana Atuoni Gyabaah, approached the Dormaa District Police station with a grave report.
They relayed that Abigail had been experiencing severe abdominal pain, which led to her disclosing her pregnancy and the subsequent ingestion of medication provided by Philip Addae, purportedly to terminate the pregnancy.
Despite being swiftly taken to Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital for emergency care, Abigail’s life could not be saved, and she succumbed to her conditions shortly after arrival.
The loss of such a young life in these tragic circumstances has brought the harsh realities of unsafe abortion practices and the risks they pose into sharp relief.
