TTAG petitions NTC over 2024 GTLE results due to GES recruitment
The leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has formally petitioned the National Teaching Council (NTC) for the prompt release of the results of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) held in April 2024.
This appeal is crucial as it impacts the timely application process for the Ghana Education Service (GES) recruitment of newly trained teachers.
In a statement shared with Thisterm.com, TTAG emphasized that the immediate release of the GTLE results is essential for College of Education graduates who participated in the examination.
These results are a prerequisite for their applications to the GES, which has recently initiated a recruitment drive for qualified trained teachers.
“The leadership of the TTAG acknowledges that several trained teachers who participated in the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) in April 2024 are eager to enhance their qualifications and redeem themselves through this process. By this, we appeal to the National Teaching Council (NTC) to expedite the necessary actions on the release of the examination results to enable these individuals to apply for GES postings,” TTAG stated in their release.
The urgency of TTAG’s petition is underscored by the recent announcement from the government, via the Ministry of Education (MoE), granting the Ghana Education Service (GES) the authority to recruit the first batch of degree holders from public Colleges of Education.
This recruitment initiative is a significant opportunity for trained teachers to secure employment within the public education sector.
“The Ghana Education Service is requesting applications from qualified trained teachers who graduated with a first degree from only public Colleges of Education, to be considered for employment,” GES announced following the clearance.
In response, the leadership of TTAG has urged all eligible trained teachers to take the recruitment process seriously and ensure that they submit the required documents promptly.
TTAG has also advised qualified trained teachers to stay informed about the recent developments regarding the release of financial clearance.
