UG 2024/25 admissions and self-placement options to be released from January 10
The University of Ghana is expected to start releasing its UG 2024/25 admissions from 10th January 2025. Students who applied for admission into the premier university are to look out for the first batch of admission between the 10th and 15th of the month.
This was made public by Mrs. Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah, the director of the University of Ghana’s Academic Affairs Directorate, following her confirmation that the release date of the first batch of admissions for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Speaking to Campus Exclusive of Radio Universe, she added that the UG has the needed results of all WASSCE from the West African Examination Council (WAEC). She added that the admission team of the university is meticulously cross-checking them.
To aid in the effective processing of admissions, the university closed its admission portal on 3rd January 2025.
Mrs. Nyako-Danquah stated that the University of Ghana will release its first batch of admissions for the 2024/25 academic year between Friday, January 10, and Wednesday, January 15, 2025, and that every needed effort is being put into the process to ensure the accuracy of the release to be made.
“We have some processes to complete, but fingers crossed, the first batch of admissions will be out between Friday, January 10, and Wednesday, January 15, 2025.”
UG 2024/25 admissions and self-placement options
She furthered that applicants who do not gain admission following the initial release but meet the requirements for admission will have the option to self-place themselves into other available programs.
Mrs. Nyako-Danquah also addressed applicants who may not initially gain admission despite meeting the requirements. She explained that there will be an option for such candidates to self-place into available programs.
The University of Ghana self-placement module is expected to mimic the GES self-placement system, where qualified students who are not automatically placed are given a second window to place themselves into available programs that they qualify for.

“These applicants can return to the application portal to access the self-placement system, which allows them to select outstanding programs they qualify for.”
Admitted students are encouraged to confirm their admission by making an initial payment of at least 50% of the fees. Freshers are expected to report to campus by mid-January.
In a related development, the university has already released the list of shortlisted applicants for the respective medical school programmes for the entrance exam, which will serve as the final basis for admission into the Ghana Medical School of the University of Ghana.

I got aggregrade 32 can i gain admission
You will not even gain admission into Colelge of Education with this grade. How can you enter the univerisity with such grades. Sorry but, you have to resit and make very good grades or else, you are going no where. Whaaat aggregate 32? Do not even buy the form. Sorry but I will not be nice about this. Thanks

Please I bought my forms 25th October, 2024. And I fill the forms waiting for the portal to be close, I checked everything again but when the portal was closed, I went to see it again and they wrote the forms wasn’t submitted under the forms. Am asking if the portal will be open for the submission so that u can add mine, please. Am Gyasi Theophilus Gyadu

Find out from the school if you can get fee paying or consider a private university for the same programme.
