University of Ghana, the premier university of Ghana uses a well defined grading system for their students. Let’s take a look at the grading system of the university, the grade points, interpretation and it’s requirement.
Letter Grade | Marks | Grade Point | Interpretation | Requirements |
A | 80–100 | 4.0 | Outstanding | -Thorough knowledge/grasp of subject matter
-Original ideas and perceptive insight -‐ Coherently organized and logically presented material/paper -Ideas clearly expressed with minimal blemishes (grammatical and typographical errors) - In sum, work leaves reader in no doubt about its exceptional quality and striking sense of completeness. |
B+ | 75- 79 | 3.5 | Very Good | -‐ Impressive knowledge of subject matter but falls slightly short of an outstanding answer
-‐ Coherently organized and logically presented material/paper -‐ Ideas clearly expressed but with a few blemishes (grammatical and typographical errors) |
B | 70 – 74 | 3.0 | Good | -‐ Clearly above average knowledge/grasp of subject matter
-‐ Well organized and presented material/paper -‐ Flashes of brilliance and originality -‐ Tolerable level of linguistic flaws (grammatical and typographical errors) |
C+ | 65 – 69 | 2.5 | Fairly Good | -‐ Above average command of subject matter
-‐ Fairly well organized and presented material/paper -‐ Contains a tolerable level of linguistic flaws (grammatical and typographical errors) |

To avoid resit in the University of Ghana means you should not get an E or an F in the particular course. This means that you should not get 0 to 49 in any course in order to escape resit in the university.
Getting an F in any course requires that you retake the examination as a resit course. If it is an E you scored in the course and it is a core course, you would have to resit but if it is an elective, you can choose to resit the course.
Wil I graduate if I get e or f in exams
No, you will not be able to graduate from the University of Ghana if you still have an F or E in your transcript that you have not been able to resit it. You should be able to resit all the courses you have failed so that you will be able to graduate from the university.
