We Will Give You Showdown If You Disturb NPP’s Image – Frances Essiam Tells Kennedy Agyapong
Frances Essiam, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, has issued a strong caution to NPP flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, about actions that could damage the party’s reputation. She made it clear to Kennedy Agyapong that she and other members of the NPP will give him a showdown if he disturbs the party’s image.

During an interview on Wontumi TV on October 25, 2023, she emphasized that Kennedy’s statements could negatively impact the party’s image and therefore urged him to show restraint. She warned that a failure to do so could lead to a direct confrontation.

She also advised those around Kennedy Agyapong to refrain from spreading misinformation to him, saying, “Akompreko, I am telling you, you are my younger sibling, if you open your mouth again and you do not seek the interest of the party… and those who have been speaking lies to him should be very careful because we know them,” said Essiam.
Additionally, Essiam called on party members to take an active role in monitoring and holding flagbearer hopefuls accountable for their public statements to ensure that these statements do not harm the party’s image.

She added, “So, he should cool down, and I am telling Akompreko that I am a strong-willed woman like him, and I am capable of engaging in a showdown like him, so I urge him not to provoke a confrontation with people like us. I am urging the party foot soldiers that regardless of the camp that you belong to, any candidate who makes statements that could harm the party’s image will face consequences. … Honorable Akompreko, you are responsible for what comes out from your camp, just as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is responsible for anything from his camp. However, the intensity of the situation in one camp is higher than the other.”
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will contest for the flagbearership slot of the NPP along with three other contenders including Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh.
