We’ll work assiduously in unity to defeat the elephant in the 2024 elections – NDC National Chairman

The newly elected National Chairman of the largest Opposition party in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has revealed that he will work diligently with all the other elected executives of the party to ensure massive victory over the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

Addressing the party cohorts on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Accra Sports stadium after he emerged winner as chairman of NDC in their 10th National delegates congress, he expressed gratitude and appreciation to the members and delegates of the NDC for entrusting the respective leadership positions to them.

He noted that the delegates have assigned such leadership positions to them as a result of the confidence they have built in them hence they will ensure a fruitful utilization of such opportunities and leadership positions offered to them indicating that the country Ghana is in serious crises with the National Democratic Congress at the crossroad to salvage the country from the mess Nana Addo and Bawumia’s NPP government has created.

He emphasized that the most important element for the NDC now is unity therefore they pledged to work in unifying the party by bringing everybody on board to take better ideas on how to defeat the elephant and set the country on the path of progress and prosperity again in the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia added that delegates giving him the Chairmanship mandate at their 10th National Delegates congress indicates that he has unfinished business with the National Democratic Congress therefore the Chairmanship position entrusted to him is a call to an enormous duty from the NDC against the NPP as a result of bad leadership and impunity imposed on us by the ruling New Patriotic Party stressing that wherever impunity becomes law, resistance becomes a duty hence he will ensure a massive resistance to the impunity conferred on us by the NPP.

He accentuated that there is great confidence in the National Executives elected by the party’s delegates which implies that the executives must carry the battle to the home of the NPP hence they will work to the desired expectations of the delegates and the followers of the party by ensuring that the independence of Ghana is regained for the benefit of the Ghanaian citizens.

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the Former President of the Republic of Ghana who was a Frag bearer of the NDC in the 2020 general elections expressed that the elected executives have a mandate to serve the NDC from now until 2026 indicating that the period of their service is very crucial and critical to the entire NDC and Ghanaians due to the 2024 general elections therefore all activities that may ensued in the general elections must be beckoned on their shoulders to ensure victory for Ghana and the NDC party.

He entreated all the winners to cut the celebration very short and sit to work immediately to unite the party to focus on the battle ahead of them in 2025 stressing that there are a lot of space under the under the umbrella to house all aspirants who couldn’t win their various positions so as to work hand in hand to secure victory for the party in 2024 General Elections.
