WhatsApp launches secure payment feature for small businesses

WhatsApp has launched a secured payment feature for small businesses, which will allow users to pay traders or sellers from their WhatsApp chat.
Users with Mastercard and Visa debit, credit, and pre-paid cards can use this feature only if their bank has been rolled onto the service.
Users who install WhatsApp’s latest version from the App Store and the Google Play Store. According to Meta, owners of the app, the feature “will be available to many more in the coming months.”
In a blog post by WhatsApp cited by Ghanaeducation.org, it indicated that the feature was being started in Brazil. The new feature has been introduced for users of WhatsApp in Brazil. WhatsApp has described the new feature as a game-changer for people and small businesses.
Features of the WhatsApp Payment Feature
- Users of WhatsApp and small businesses can buy and sell on WhatsApp. Thus, WhatsApp may be introducing a full e-commerce function in the near future globally.
- Users will not need to open a new app or visit a website to make payments for goods and services.
- Users of the feature can add a cart on the app and use just a tap to make a payment.
- The WhatsApp Business App will require that users link to a supported payment partners
- They can also create orders right in the WhatsApp app to securely accept payments from their customers.
- The feature is only available to WhatsApp Business app users.
Meta has indicated that it is excited that it has made this feature available to users so that it can finally permit users to unlock this ability.
The new WhatsApp Payment Feature will be secured, as the card numbers linked by customers will be encrypted and securely stored.
Again, users will be required to create a Payment PIN which will be used to make payments.
