Wooow! WhatsApp users getting new ‘companion mode’ feature for Android phones
It is new and here as WhatsApp users are getting a new ‘companion mode’ feature for Android phones globally.
Meta, the owner of WhatsApp has successfully rolled out the “companion mode” feature to all beta testers in its latest update on Android.
Earlier, the companion mode was only available to a select group of beta testers, reports WABetaInfo.
This new feature is a must-have for all users in the future since it has been designed with the aim of permitting users to link one WhatsApp Account to the other. For instance, if a user has two or more different phone numbers on WhatsApp, he or she can use the companion mode feature to merge the accounts.
This feature, an extension of multi-device support, has been designed to allow users to link their existing WhatsApp account to another mobile phone.
Users who link their existing WhatsApp account to a secondary mobile phone can now access their chats on the second device without needing an active internet connection on their main phone, according to the report.
Once the chat is linked using the Companion mode, the user can get their chat history to be synced across all their linked devices just as it works for WhatsApp web and your phone.
The companion mode has been made available to all beta testers, but some features, such as the ability to manage broadcast lists and post a status update from the linked device, may still be unavailable.
Meanwhile, Whatsapp has introduced a new feature – “manage contacts within the app”, allowing users to add and edit contacts without leaving the app on Android.
The ability to add and edit contacts within WhatsApp for Android is now available for some beta testers using the latest beta version, and it will roll out to even more users in the coming days.
In a related development, WhatsApp Business users in Brazil can now make payments thus they can shop and pay via their WhatsApp accounts.

But to do this, they must link their bank Master card or Visa cards to WhatsApp. Banks may have to register with WhatsApp before businesses and business owners using WhatsApp business can access the service on their mobile devices.
