2020/2021 SHS Placements which has delayed is expected to be released by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in 72 hours. This projection is an opinion based on analysis.
What informed our 72 Hours Projection of the release of the 2020/2021 SHS Placements?
#1. The latest release from the GES on its Twitter handle showed its Technical team working around the clock to ensure the GES call center runs effectively and efficiently to receive and solve Placement related issues.
It is projected that once the GES call centers are completed, equipped, and staffed, the placement portal will go live. Once the checkers are available for stakeholders to buy, it will also give a hint that the school placements are about to be released.
It indicated that the service will not set up its usual National Solution center at the Independence Square or its Regional Education offices. The work done by officers will be carried out from the call centre.
Another update from the GES said the service was going to announce call center lines when the Computerised School Placement is officially released.
#2 First-year students who will be going to Free SHS across the country are expected to report to school on the 10th of March 2021. Ghanaeducation.org projects that 2020/2021 SHS Placements may be out soon. The GES may release the results soon to ensure parents and students have adequate time to prepare for school.
Technically, are SHS1 students going to report to school on 10th March 2021
Since the GES has not altered the calendar, it means we are on course. However, it should be noted that often, schools reopen a few days or weeks for those in second and third years before SHS one students report. Hence the 10th March 2021 is not an automatic date for SHS1 students to report.
The reporting date indicated on the placement form or in the school placement release press release by the GES will indicate the reporting date for SHS1 students.
However, One worrying development is that the placement Checkers are yet to be made available to the general public.
So far, the Ghana Education Service in its last three outings has not disclosed that it has not completed work on the actual placements. Nearly every information from the service was related to final preparations to ensure a smooth school placement period.
On Sunday the Ghana Education Service urged candidates, parents, stakeholders, and members of the general public to remain calm as it works tirelessly to ensure a difficulty-free placement.
However, impatience is growing by the day as we inch close to 10th March 2021.
Reactions from the general public on the delayed release of 2020 School placements
A comment by a parent on GES’ Facebook page tells it all…
GES (Free SHS Secretariat) has failed us this time. Why all this suspense? After the Director-General has informed us, it will be released on 21st. You are here with another story. Major media houses such as despite, multi-media, etc have all informed the general public that it will be released today. What is happening? Besides, you didn’t again give any specific dates of release in your letters. Hoping you’re working on your website too. We don’t want any network interference when you finally release it? Once again, when are you releasing it? How soon is your soon?
Everyone is on the lookout for information on the 2020/2021 SHS placements. Let us all look forward to the next press release by the GES.
