The 2020 BECE school placement will be released before the end of January, according to the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The school placement when released will offer BECE graduates who sat for the 30th edition of the examination to know the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) they have been placed in for their secondary education.
“We are still working on the school placement, the President has said the school will reopen on 10th March so late January this year the 2020 BECE candidates’ school placements will be out,” he told host of Kokrokoo show.
In an interview with Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa on Peace 104. 3 FM’s Kokrokoo show, he disclosed that the GES is working on the school placement to be released soon.
Likely date for the release of 2020 BECE school placement
The GES often releases the school placements on Fridays. Based on this, GhanaEducation expects the 2020 BECE school placement status of candidates to be out on 22nd or 29th January 2021.
The Ghana Education Service is poised to avoid the stress that comes with the release of the school placements.
It has therefore updated and improved on the self-placement system, which now permits candidates who do self placement to go and make changes on the placement portal if they so wish.

However, candidates who obtain grade nine (9) in either Integrated Science or Mathematics may not be placed at all based on past placement outcomes.
Students whose results are pending because of alleged involvement in examination malpractices may not have their Free SHS school placements until WAEC concludes and releases such results.
Again candidates whose results were cancelled will also not be placed because their exams data may not merit any school.
For such candidates, the 2021 Private BECE may be an option if they want to continue their education at the secondary after the 2021 BECE for school candidates.
