2022 BECE malpractices: WAEC issues cautions ahead of release of results
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) said that it has finished all post-exam tasks and will soon release the results for the 2022 BECE candidates.
The Council has asked schools that have been told about wrongdoing in their schools to come to the council to get the problems fixed.
Below is a press release from the Council:
The West African Examinations Council wants to let everyone know when the results for the BECE for School and Private Candidates, 2022, will be made public.
After the exam was done well at 2,023 centers and coordination and marking exercises were done, the Council is well into activities for after the exam.
Investigations are still going on into cases of exam irregularities that were found during and after the exam.
For cases of wrongdoing to be settled quickly, the Council asks the schools and candidates involved to respond quickly to its invitation.
Candidates are told that if they don’t show up to these meetings, it won’t stop the Council from making a final decision on the cases.
The Council wants people to ignore anything they see on social media that says the results are out, among other things.
The results of the BECE for both school and private candidates are expected to be released on January 25, 2023.
Parents and candidates should stay calm while the Council works on getting the results ready.
