2023 BECE: Candidates To Have Different Set Of Questions In A Single Exams Hall

The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has given a hint of how his ministry and WAEC plan to set the 2023 BECE questions.
In his recent interview on TV3’s New Day show, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum revealed that his ministry has introduced a system known as the serialization which will make it impossible for students to cheat during exams.
He revealed that with the serialisation, candidates in the same examination hall will receive the same question but with different question numbers. Or students may get different questions all together in a single exams hall.
He said the serialisation, which was introduced in the 2021 BECE, would be intensified this year and advised candidates to study hard so they could do independent work in the examination hall.
“One thing that I am seriously and excited about is the fact that we have put an end to the perineal examination leakages that confronted BECE examination in this country. When the president charged me to find a way to end it, I went to work, we brought on board best practices from around the world called serialization”
“Two years ago in the BECE, different regions had different questions, even though it is the same level of difficulty. People who used to sell questions online saw that their market was gone. They pulled down their website. Just this past year, every examination center had different set of questions. In the coming examination, within the same examination room, students are going to have different questions. It will be a game changer” he said.
The 2023 BECE is set to begin on Monday, 7th August, 2023. Below is the final timetable for the exams.
