2023 BECE Start Date And Timetable; More Details

JHS 3 pupils have been urged to be more closer to their books as the BECE draws near. According to WAEC, the portal for the registration will officially be opened on Monday, 27th March, 2023 and will end on Friday, 28th April, 2023.

It is important for all candidates to ensure that their bio data is captured accurately and that they are registered for the correct subjects.

School authorities are urged to ensure that they register candidates for the correct Ghanaian Language and Basic Design Technology options. As with the WASSCE (SC), access arrangements will be made for candidates with special educational needs.

The official 2023 BECE start date is Monday, 7th August, 2023 and end on Friday, 11th August, 2023.

This year’s exams will be written earlier as compared to the previous years. In 2022, the examination was administered to candidates from 17th October to 21st October. The West African Examination Council is yet to release an official examination timetable and examination dates for would-be candidates

The 2023 BECE to be written in August will be the last examination for students using the old curriculum. In 2024, the standard base curriculum will be used for the examination. The GES has therefore directed all head teachers not to repeat any student who was in form two at the end of the 2022 academic year, since such a move will disadvantage such students.

BECE Timetable

Below is the expected 2023 BECE timetable based on the 2022 BECE. The timetable provided here does not come with the exact dates on which the various papers will be written because WAEC has not officially released the date for the examination.
