The 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) has resumed after final year students completed their WASSCE exams. Here, is the full schedule for the 2023 NSMQ Prelims. The breakdown of the full schedule for the 2023 NSMQ Prelims has been explained below.
NSMQ – What Is It About?
The National Science and Maths Quiz is an annual competition for all final year Science students in our various Senior High Schools. The competition comprises only, qualified senior high schools.
The subjects in which the quiz questions are set are, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics.
Senior High Schools, right from the onset of the quiz, battles for a place at the national level when they begin to contest their neighbouring schools, in the same region. In essence, senior high schools, goes through the qualifying round. After securing a spot to the national level, then they battle for the regional championship.
Also, the regional championship determines the school that will represent a particular region at the national level of the competition. After the regional championship, the competition then heads to the preliminary stage, which has been shortened to ‘prelims’.
The Preliminary stage also comprises unseeded schools, that will battle against each other in order to secure a spot in the one-eight round.

Day One of the Prelims;
Day 1 will have nine fiery contests. The date for these contest is Friday, 6th October 2023.
