Barring any last-minute delays or technical hitches, we project that the 2023 school placement will be released on Friday, November 24th, 2023. This update is sourced from a reliable source.
2023 School Placement Projected To Be Released: How many students will be automatically placed
In all, the Ministry of Education has revealed that a little over 300,000 out of the nearly 600,000 who sat for the 2023 BECE will be automatically placed.
Per the information made public by the GES, nearly 200,000 BECE graduates will be using the self-placement module when the school placements are released.
BECE candidates who sat the 2023 examination were the first batch of candidates to choose eleven schools for their placement consideration; however, since close to 200,000 candidates will be doing self-placement, it means parents and candidates are failing to be objective in choosing schools. Very often, parents and candidates do not hide the advice and informed suggestions made by teachers and school heads when parents are selecting schools.
The sad reality is that many candidates choose schools based on taste and preference, and their academic performance will not permit them to get placed in them.
It is hoped that when school placements are released, parents and candidates will not blame the GES falsely for not placing their wards in schools they were hoping to see their wards being placed in.
School placement is competitive, and if you obtain seven, there are other students who may also get the same seven and better raw scores. Your raw score, accommodation choice, and programme of preference, as well as the number of students at each school you chose, all play a crucial role in your final placement at any school you have chosen.
When the 2023 school placement is released before the end of this week, it will help parents prepare well and make the needed spending on their ward’s return to school as SHS1 students.
In a related development, the school placement checkers are to be released for sale effective Thursday, November 23, 2023.
