2024/2025 Entry Requirements for University of Ghana Undergraduate Admissions
The University of Ghana has opened the 2024/2025 undergraduate admissions portal. Here are the entry requirements for this year’s admissions.
General Entry Requirements
Prospective applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:
– Credits (A1 – C6 in WASSCE and A – D in SSSCE) in English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science (for Science-related programs) or Social Studies (for non-Science programs).
Three elective subjects in Science for Science or Agriculture-related programs or three elective subjects in General Arts/Business for non-Science disciplines, with a total aggregate not exceeding 24.
Additional requirements include a grade C6 in WASSCE/D in SSSCE in Social Studies/Life Skills for Science applicants and Integrated Science/Core Science for non-Science applicants.
College of Health Sciences
Short-listed applicants must pass an interview and/or entrance examination for programs in the College of Health Sciences.

Specific entry requirements for various programs are outlined as follows:
University of Ghana Medical School
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies.
Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry and any two from Physics, Biology, and Elective Mathematics.
University of Ghana Dental School
Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies.
Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry and any two from Physics, Biology, and Elective Mathematics.
School of Pharmacy:Doctor of Pharmacy.
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies.
Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry, Biology, and either Physics or Elective Mathematics.
School of Biological & Allied Health Sciences
Various Bachelor of Science programs.
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies.
Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry, Physics, and either Biology or Elective Mathematics.
School of Nursing and Midwifery
Bachelor of Science programs.
Entry requirements vary depending on the chosen option.
College of Basic and Applied Sciences
The College offers a range of programs with specific entry requirements, including:
- School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences: Bachelor of Science programs in Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Earth Sciences.
- School of Biological Sciences Bachelor of Science programs in various biological disciplines.
College of Humanities
Programs such as Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) are offered, each with its own set of entry requirements.
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies
Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects
College of Education
The College offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Education programs, each with specific entry requirements tailored to the respective disciplines.
School of Continuing & Distance Education
Offers various Bachelor programs with flexible learning options, including Business Administration, Arts, and Information Technology.
