The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of the school selection and placement process for Junior High School (JHS) leavers who recently completed their Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).
The selection process will run from today, Wednesday, 28 August 2024 to Wednesday, 4 September 2024.
In a statement, the GES urged parents and guardians to actively participate in the school selection exercise to ensure a smooth placement process.
“Parents and guardians are particularly advised to take a keen interest in the school selection exercise to ensure a smooth placement this year,” the GES advised.
The GES also revealed that candidates will have the opportunity to confirm their school choices before the final placement is made.
“There would be an opportunity for candidates to text to a short code and confirm their school choices before actual placement will be done,” the statement said.
Details of the shortcode will be communicated in due course.
Additionally, officers from the GES Headquarters will be monitoring the school selection exercise nationwide to ensure its smooth execution.
All candidates will be required to choose up to 11 schools. The selection will be divided into two sets.
