Question a. (Distinguish): Kwame has heard the terms “soil depletion” and “soil erosion” being used, but he is unsure of the difference. Explain the difference between soil depletion and soil erosion in the context of Kwame’s farm. (2 marks)
Question b (Apply): Based on your understanding of soil depletion, identify three factors that might be contributing to the decline in productivity of Kwame’s farm. Explain how each factor can lead to soil depletion which is currently affecting his crop yield. (4 marks)

During a science fair, Kwame is demonstrating the fascinating phenomenon of light refraction. He sets up an experiment with a rectangular glass block and a laser pointer. When the laser beam strikes the glass block at an angle, it bends as it passes through the glass and exits on the other side.
