2025 teacher recruitment to start soon: Check date and requirements (Fresh Update)

Good news is on its way for all teachers becuase the 2025 GES teacher recruitment will start soon.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released a new update that the upcoming recruitment of 50,000 teaching and 10,000 non-teaching staff into the service will be announced soon. This update was released today August 4, 2025 at about 6:30 am.
According to the announcement made on the official Facebook page of the service, the recruitment when opened will be done in a transparent manner. As part of efforts to protect all potential teaching and non-teaching staff from criminals posting fake recruitment updates, the GES called on all persons looking forward to being recruited into the GES to be vigilant and not to become victims of scammers.
“Recruitment will be announced, and conducted, openly and transparently when it officially begins. In the meantime, please stay vigilant and do not fall victim to scammers.” The GES stated.
The GES’ gives fresh update on 2025 recruitment, came along with the earlier press release from the GES to remind would be applicants and the general public of what the current GES through the John Mahama-led government intend to do to beef up the human resource of the GES while creating decent jobs for the teaming teaching and non teaching applicants waiting for the recruitment portal to be opened.
The 2025 teacher recruitment to start soon however, when will the GES start its 2025/2026 Teaching and Non-teaching staff recruitment?
At the time of filing this report, the GES had not yet disclosed the date it will start the recruitment of the 50,000 teaching and 10,000 non-teaching staff.
However, per the academic calendar, the 2025/2026 academic year starts on 2dn September 2025.
This means that the GES would be commencing recruitment very soon before the end of August 2025 to ensure that new teaching and non-teaching staff are posted to schools to help beef up staff before the end of the first time of the 2025/2026 on 18th December 2026.
Qualified persons are encouraged to start putting together their applications documents for the upcoming recruitment.
The GES has stated “All GES recruitments are completely FREE. No individuals or groups are permitted to charge applicants any fee whatsoever for recruitment, processing, or issuance of appointment letters.”
“The general public is hereby cautioned that the appointment letters being issued to some persons, and advertisements on recruitment into the GES circulating on social media are FAKE. The public, especially prospective applicants are, therefore, strongly advised to disregard such fraudulent schemes. They are attempts to take advantage of the vulnerable and unsuspecting public.”
The 2025 teacher recruitment to start soon but what are the documents required for teaching staff recruitment by GES?
For individuals aspiring to become teachers under the Ghana Education Service, the following documents are typically mandatory for the application process:
- Completed Application Form: This is usually an online form available on the official GES promotions and recruitment portal.
- Academic Certificates: A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject area from an accredited institution is a primary requirement.

However, based on past recruitment exercises and official documents, the following are generally expected:
- Completed Application Form: Similar to teaching positions, an official application form, when available, must be completed.
- Academic and Professional Certificates: The required educational qualifications vary by position. This can range from a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) certificate for some roles to Higher National Diplomas (HND), and Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees for administrative, accounting, and other specialized positions.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume: A detailed CV outlining work experience and qualifications is often necessary.
- Ghana Card: A valid Ghana Card serves as the primary form of identification.
- Birth Certificate: Proof of age and nationality.

GES is expected to release an official presser on that. That information is not available now.
So diploma holders can’t apply for the teaching position
