How many times can I use a single BECE result checker card?

When will the 2026 school placement be released?

Once school selections are finalized and the portal closes for both school and private candidates, the Ministry of Education will process the choices. Placements are determined by the computerized system (CSSPS) based on the candidate’s raw scores, selected programs, and accommodation availability.

Why does WAEC cancel or withhold some BECE results?

WAEC cancels results when there is clear evidence of examination malpractice. Depending on the severity, this can range from cancelling a candidate’s single subject score, cancelling their entire results, or even cancelling the results of an entire school. For instance, being caught with a mobile phone in the examination hall leads to automatic cancellation.

Withheld results occur when WAEC suspects an irregularity and pauses the release to conduct an independent investigation.

• If the investigation clears the student, the results are released.

• If the student is found guilty, the results are permanently cancelled.

What should I do if my BECE result is withheld?

If WAEC has withheld your results, visit the official WAEC examination malpractice portal:

Malpractice Portal: irreg.waecgh.org

Enter your index number and required details to see if your name is listed. If you are on the list, the portal will show your specific offense, as well as the date, time, and venue where you must report to assist with investigations.

Note: Failing to show up for these sessions usually results in automatic and permanent cancellation of your scores.

Can a candidate or parent request script remarking?

Yes. If you firmly believe a candidate’s published grade does not reflect their actual performance, you or your parents can apply to WAEC for official script remarking. Keep in mind that this is a formal, structured process. You will need to write an official request, fill out the required forms, and pay a fee per subject. Applications must be submitted immediately after results are released, as WAEC rejects late requests.
