40-year-old woman butchered, nearly beheaded at Akoti Junction
Unknown attackers hacked up and nearly cut off the head of a 40-year-old woman at Gomoa Akoti Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region at dawn on Wednesday.
The victim, whose name is being kept secret, lives in Gomoa Ojobi. She was walking to work along the highway when she was attacked by people she didn’t know, who tried to kill her.
After she changed direction with the machete, it fell into her left hand and almost cut her palm in two.
In an interview with Onua News’ Nana Yaw Asare, the victim said that a salon car drove up to her on her way to work and hit her with the car gate. When she fell down, they took out a sharp knife and tried to kill her.
She said there were three or four of them.

This morning, I was walking from Ojobi to Akoti when I saw a private car. It looks like ash. I thought someone was getting off of a Trolley. They punched me and then came at me with a knife. I used my left hand to hold his hand. When the second person came, I put my right hand on him. When the third person came, I kicked him in the balls. When the driver tried to get out, I ran into a ditch, and they ran away. They didn’t take my phone after I gave it to them. “They could have cut off my hand, but it was clear they were after my head,” she said.
Some people who live in the area are worried about how often people are robbed and attacked.
Since they have Regional Police Command, they have asked the security services and the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to help them stop the situation as soon as possible.
