My name is Stephen Sabo Da-Balorror (TikyaSabo). I have been a committed and dedicated GNAT member, an Optional TF Contributor, a Grassroot Teacher Unionist, and a peace-loving Youngman since I joined the Teaching Profession over a decade ago.
I posted on this platform and shared on one other social media outlet an opinion piece titled “A Post-mortem on the GNAT Volta 2021 Chairmanship Election results: TikyaSabo’s Perspective”
Consequently, on 16th September 2021, I got a phone call from a Delivery Service Person from DHL who invited me to Wa for a parcel.
I rode the 27-mile distance from Wechiau to Wa to retrieve the parcel which turned out to be a writ from Afadjato Chambers and signed by one S.Y. Felix Ntoso- Lawyer for Mr. David Kattah, the Volta Regional GNAT Chairman-Elect.
The letter dated 10th September 2021 and its accompanying content stated among other things, the displeasure of Mr. David Kattah in respect of the analysis of the GNAT Volta Regional Chairmanship results.
He refuted an assertion in my piece: “Inducement (Money vs Message)”; and that Mr. David Kattah won the election cleanly.
Winning the said election cleanly for me means no inducement or whatsoever was triggered by any candidate or no offer was made to any Delegate from the local level right up to the Regional level of our Union’s political wing in the Volta Region and by extension, across the country.
The said publication, as contained in the writ served me by Mr. S.Y. Felix Ntoso, a Lawyer at Afadzato Chambers in the Volta Region alleged that my article caused reputational damage to Mr. David Kattah, the Volta Regional GNAT Chairman-Elect.
I, therefore, retract the paragraph of the article Mr. David Kattah finds offensive and apologize to him unreservedly.
I have since contacted Mr. David Kattah and his Lawyer to update them on the scheme of events and apologized to him unreservedly on phone. I was assured that I was forgiven and that once I retract the “Inducement (Money vs Message)” components of my article and apologized, I had done my part of the deal and no sanction (or whatsoever) would be meted out onto me.
As a peace-loving young man and someone who wish the GNAT and the Ghana Education Service to improve upon the conditions of service of members by providing us with the desired leadership and logistics we truly need to work with, I appeal to all my social media followings who shared or forwarded my opinion piece (Personal perspective through Opinion Polls) to various social media platforms to do same with the retraction and words of apology as well.
