After several stages of heated contest in the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ), three Senior High Schools – Opoku Ware School, Mfantsipim School and St. Augustine’s College have qualified to compete in the grand final of the Science and Maths Quiz.
As we reported earlier, Mfantsipim School, the reigning champion of the NSMQ, was the first second-cycle school to qualify for the final stage, followed by St. Augustine’s College and Opoku Ware School.
The Cape Coast-based Mfantsipim School, the 2024 winners who are defending their title, stretched with a 19-point difference, winning with 42 points as against 23 by GSTS and 15 by Mankranso SHS.

BUY TOP 2026 BECE MOCKS AND ANSWERSSt Augustine’s College picked the second spot in the grand finale from the semi-final after beating Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary, and Amaniampong Senior High School.
At the end of the fiercely contested semi-final clash, St Augustine’s College finished with 46 points against Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary’s 38 and Amaniampong Senior High School’s 23.
The last to qualify for the NSMQ finale, Opoku Ware School (OWASS) secured the final slot for the grand finale after beating St. Peter’s Senior High School from the Eastern Region and Achimota School from the Greater Accra Region in a thrilling contest.

BUY CHEAP DATA NOWThe contest concluded with the riddle round, where Opoku Ware solved two out of four riddles, raising their final tally to 48 points. St. Peter’s managed to solve one riddle, ending with 10 points, while Achimota School was unable to answer any correctly, finishing with 27 points.
Organisers of the NSQM, Primetime Limited, say the 2025 edition of the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) will take place in Cape Coast at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) on November 6, 2025.
