2025 School Placements Out?: BECE Candidates to Access Free SHS Placements

The Ministry of Education is set to release the much-anticipated 2025 School Placements in Ghana for BECE candidates who successfully passed the WAEC-administered examination. The SHS/TVET placement portal has not yet been activated, but students, parents, and guardians are eager to check their BECE 2025 placement results online.

Status of the 2025 School Placements

As of now, the placement portal remains at the school confirmation stage and has not switched to allow candidates to check their results. This clearly indicates that the 2025 School Placements in Ghana are not yet live for public access.

Release Date of the 2025 BECE Placements

According to the Ministry of Education, the official release date for the placements is Wednesday, 17th September 2025. Unless unforeseen technical issues or delays occur, students and parents should be able to access the placement results on that date. However, the Ministry has not specified the exact time when the placement portal will go live.

What the 2025 School Placements Press Release Will Contain

The Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Education are expected to publish a detailed press release once the 2025 Free SHS placement results are out. The announcement will highlight:

• The total number of BECE candidates who passed and qualified for Free SHS placement in public or private schools.

• The number of students automatically placed in one of their five selected schools during the school selection phase.

• The number of students who qualified but were not placed in any of their choices. Such candidates will be directed to use the Self-Placement Module on the SHS/TVET placement portal, provided it is activated.

Candidates Likely to Miss Placement

Students who obtained grade 9 in either English Language or Mathematics are very likely to miss placement in their chosen schools. These students will also not have access to the Self-Placement Module.

School Placement Is Free of Charge

The Ministry of Education has emphasized that the 2025 BECE school placement checking process will be completely free of charge. Parents and guardians are not required to pay any money to access placements.

Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Clement Apaak, has strongly cautioned the public against fraudsters who may attempt to extort money. He urged parents to report such cases immediately to the Ghana Police Service or the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

Reporting to School After Placement

Students who are successfully placed in schools will be required to report between 18th October and 20th October 2025 to commence the 2025/2026 academic year.
