Ghana Education News can confirm that the 2025 School Placement Portal (www.cssps.gov.gh) is back online, and students can now check their school placements nationwide.

The portal was reactivated this evening after several hours of worrying glitches and repeated Error 502 messages that prevented access.

With the portal now working, both students and parents can log in immediately to check whether they have been placed or not.

Key Update from GES on 2025 Placements

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), a total of 107,509 students missed the chance to be automatically placed in any of the five schools they selected.

These students, who successfully passed the BECE but were not placed, must now use the Self-Placement Module to choose a school and programme of study.

Important Guidance for Parents

Parents whose wards need to use the self-placement system are strongly advised:

• Do not leave the process solely in the hands of café operators or students.

• Actively take part in making school and programme choices for your child.

• Complete the process early. The longer parents delay, the fewer school and programme options remain available.

Students who act quickly stand a better chance of selecting from the best schools and programmes still open on the portal.

How the Self-Placement Module Works

1. Students who log in and are not automatically placed will be redirected to the self-placement page or must click the link to access it.

2. From there, they can select from available schools, programmes, and residential statuses (day/boarding).

3. Once confirmed, the selection is final and must be printed for school enrolment.

⚠️ Note: Any student who obtained Grade 9 in Mathematics and/or English cannot use the self-placement module.
