According to a press release dated February 26, 2026, the entry figures for the examination included 20,036 males and 24,501 females. The council noted that a total of 2,422 candidates who registered for the exams were absent.

Examination Malpractice and Withheld Results

WAEC has highlighted several cases of alleged examination malpractice:

• Entire Results Withheld: The full results of 348 candidates are currently withheld pending investigations.

• Subject Results Withheld: The subject results for 469 candidates have also been withheld.

• Reasons for Irregularities: These cases involve allegations of collusion, impersonation, seeking external assistance, and bringing foreign materials into the examination hall.
