University of Ghana Releases 2026/2027 Undergraduate Admission Status — Applicants Can Check Now

The University of Ghana (UG), Legon, has opened its admission status checker for applicants seeking admission into undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Applicants who submitted applications for the 2026/2027 academic year can now visit the University’s official admission status portal to find out whether they have been offered admission.

The development is important for prospective students who have been waiting to know the outcome of their applications following the completion of the undergraduate admission process.

The University of Ghana’s official admission status platform is currently accessible and allows applicants to search for their admission records and, where applicable, download their admission letters.

How to Check University of Ghana Admission Status

Applicants should use the official University of Ghana admission status checker rather than relying on messages, social media posts or third parties claiming to have access to the admission list.

The current UG admission status page provides an option to search using the applicant’s serial number or surname. The results interface can show the applicant’s name, programme, campus and admission type, with an option to download the admission letter where an admission record is available.

Applicants should therefore keep their application details available when checking their status.

What Successful Applicants Should Do

Applicants who find that they have been offered admission should carefully review the information displayed and proceed to obtain their provisional admission letter.

The University of Ghana’s admissions guidance states that successful applicants can download their provisional admission letters using their Serial Number and PIN. Applicants are also advised to read the instructions contained in the admission letter carefully before proceeding with subsequent admission processes.

Students should pay particular attention to the programme into which they have been admitted, as well as any instructions and deadlines contained in their admission documents.

UG Warns Applicants About Admission Fraud

The University of Ghana has also warned applicants and the public about fraudulent communications relating to admissions, academic registration and accommodation.

The University’s IT Directorate says it has not authorised individuals or groups to collect money by promising to secure admission or accommodation for applicants.

Applicants have consequently been advised not to pay individuals who claim they can influence admission or residential placement. The University says suspected fraudulent communications can be reported to its security email with screenshots.

This warning is particularly relevant at a time when prospective students are actively checking their admission status and making plans for the next stage of their education.

2026/2027 UG Undergraduate Admissions

The University of Ghana officially opened applications for undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year earlier in 2026. The university stated that applicants with WASSCE and other recognised high-school leaving qualifications, including candidates writing their examinations in 2026, were eligible to apply.

The general undergraduate application deadline for Ghanaian applicants, excluding selected College of Health Sciences programmes, was subsequently extended to September 8, 2026. A further extension was granted for applicants to review and make changes to submitted applications until September 9, 2026, at noon.
