Ghanaeducation.org can confirm that The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted 11 teachers over 2020 BECE and WASSCE Malpractices that took place during the 2020 West African Examination examinations at the Junior High and Senior High levels.
According to the letter from GES cited by Ghanaeducation.org, the decision to interdict the eleven (11) teachers who acted professionally as examination officers in 2020 was based on a report by WAEC.
The letter indicated that the teachers in question admitted that they engaged in examination malpractices that were contrary to Section 3.32 (III) of the Code of conduct for staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
GES Interdicts 11 teachers over 2020 BECE and WASSCE Malpractices awaiting termination of appointment
The managers of the Pre-Tertiary education directed that the appointments of the said teachers should be terminated and in line with Section 4.3 (IV) of the GES per the code of conduct.
However, the GES indicated that since the termination of appointment requires the Ghana Education Service Council, the said officers of the service should be interdicted pending the final determination of the matter by the GES Council.
The 11 teachers interdicted over 2020 BECE and WASSCE examination malpractices are awaiting their faith as the GES Council is yet to bring to finality their faith.

According to the GES, the offense of the teachers are major misconducts, and that the implementation of the sanctions would serve as a deterrent for like-minded people who are staff of the service.
