BREAKING: Laryea Kingston gets Ghana U-17 job

Laryea Kingston, who used to play for Ghana on the international level, has been named an assistant coach for the Black Starlets, Ghana’s U-17 men’s team.
Kingston will help Karim Zito. He has played 42 times for the Black Stars and has scored six goals. The Ghana Football Association named the 42-year-old as the team’s first assistant coach. Jacob Nettey was named as the team’s second assistant coach (GFA)
“The new technical team has been given the job of putting together a strong team for the next WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations and U-17 Africa Cup of Nations,” the GFA website said.
Zito has worked with youth football for a long time. Last year, in Mauritania, he won the Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Satellites U-20 team.
Since becoming a coach, this is Laryea’s first big job. This year, the former midfielder said that his dream is to coach Ghana and help them win the World Cup.
Kingston was talking about how hard it was for him to miss the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, even though he was an important part of the qualifying games.
“Yes, it’s over, and we need to move on and think about the future. It’s too bad I never got to play in the World Cup,” he said on GHOne TV.
He said, “I hope that one day I could coach the team and win the World Cup.”
Nettey used to be the captain of Hearts of Oak. In 2000, he led the team to victory in the CAF Champions League.
Also, former Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu has been named as the head coach for the Back Satrlets for the upcoming African Cup of Nations.
