Candidates with withheld 2020 WASSCE results by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) have pleaded with the council to speed up its investigation process and release their results to enable them to meet the admission deadline for the various universities and other tertiary institutions they have applied to.
“WACE please release our withheld results for us please it’s our last chance please we are begging you in the name of Jesus please have mercy on us we beg please release it for us”…“Please we have bought awaiting forms please we beg you I beg u please temper justice with Mercy on us, please” candidates posted on a sister website.
As it stands, until WAEC completes its investigations and finds them not to have committed any examination malpractice, the frustration of waiting will continue to stress the candidates.
WAEC takes about 31 days to make an informed decision on such matters. The council has assured that the results of the students will be released when a final decision is taken by the management of the examining body. However, it has indicated that the results will be released in batches.
The results of the WASSCE 2020 released saw an improvement in student performance in Mathematics and English language but a decline in performance in Integrated Science and Social Studies.
