GES to settle teachers outstanding salary and allowance, requests for documents

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has indicated it will settle teachers outstanding salary and allowance however, it has requested that specific documents are provided by those affected.

Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has requested for all outstanding salary and allowance issues within the Regions concerning staff of the Service.

The communiqué announcing the move by the GES was signed by Ms. Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, AG. Director, HRMD for AG. Director-General.

The press release called on all Regional Directors to re-submit SOFT COPIES of all outstanding salary/Allowance issues in their respective regions to the Ag. Director, HRMD of the Ghana Education Service.

Issues that are yet to be handled by the GES per the letter include

1. Upgrading/Salary Adjustment.

2. Transfer Grant.

3. Responsibility Allowance (PLEASE REFER TO LETTER ATTACHED).

4. Junior Rank Promotion (Teaching/Non-Teaching).

To assists the GES to pay settle teachers outstanding salary and allowance, Regional Directors must attach Excel sheets containing the details of affected staff to aid the management to compile the final list for resolving the anomalies.

How to submit the details required to settle teachers outstanding salary and allowance

The officers at the regional office led by the Regional Directors are required to submit the issues via the email hrdirectorate@ges.gov.gh. The information or data must be sent to Accra through the email provided by the close of Friday, 30th December 2022.

All teaching and non teaching staff of the GES who have outstanding salary and allowance issues are advised to officially inform their respective Regional Office so that their issues can be addressed to close the chapter on the unpaid teachers outstanding salary and allowance.

GES staff with useful documents to prove they are owed arrears are also advised to carry them along when visiting the regional offices to make the process less stressful for them.
