Prempeh College Qualifies for 2023 NSMQ Semi Finals After Walking Over Mawuli School and Abetifi SHTS
Prempeh College has qualified for the semifinals of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after Mawuli SHS and Abetifi Presby SHS failed to come to the party in their quarter-final contest.
The two schools did not push enough to outperform Prempeh College.
Prempeh College will now face off against Pope John SHS and Opoku Ware in the semifinals of the NSMQ.
The competition is scheduled to take place on October 19th, 2023. Prempeh College, Kumasi, was the first school to win the NSMQ when it was held in 1994.
Prempeh College is one of the most successful schools in the history of the NSMQ, having won the competition five times. The last time they won it was in 2021.
Congratulations to Prempeh College on qualifying for the semifinals of the NSMQ! We wish the team all the best in their upcoming contest.
The five-time champions and 2022 first runner-up, Prempeh College, have reignited their quest for a sixth trophy with an impressive slot in the semi-finals.

To conclude the quarter-final stage competitions on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, St. Augustine’s College, 2022 Semi-finalists, will compete against the current highest scorer in the NSMQ 2023 competition, Keta SHTS, and Tamale SHS.
Following suit, Kumasi Sec. Tech. will seek a Semifinal spot against two-time champions Mfantsipim School and Yilo Krobo SHS.
Wrapping up the quarterfinal stage competitions, Presec, Legon, the most successful school in NSMQ history, will vie for an eighth title against Accra Academy and GSTS.
The NSMQ 30th Anniversary competitions have reached new heights, delivering intense suspense and enthusiasm. Best of luck to all participating schools!
In a related development, the icing on the cake and the most anticipated contest of the One-Eighth Stage featured the reigning and seven-time champions, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon.
They competed against impressive runners-up, Konongo Odumasi SHS, and Kumasi Wesley Girls’ SHS.

The only school to have won the NSMQ trophy back-to-back, Presec, Legon, emerged victorious with a remarkable 60 points.
