2023/2024 University of Ghana Undergraduate Admission Forms Out
2023/2024 Undergraduate admission forms for the University of Ghana are now available and will be covered by Ghana Education News.
The University of Ghana announces that applications are now open for the academic year 2023–2024 admission to a number of undergraduate programs. It is intended for the public as well as applicants, parents, and guardians to be aware of this announcement. Candidates should be aware of the following details:
Before applying, all prospective applicants are urged to visit the University’s website, www.ug.edu.gh, and carefully read all pertinent information and guidelines.
The application process is open to all applicants who will take the WASSCE in 2023.
Only FIRST CHOICE programs are available at the College of Health Sciences, except those offered at the School of Allied Health Sciences.
Applicants must select courses in the Sciences for their second and third choices.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering are among the FIRST CHOICE programs available at the College of Basic and Applied Sciences.
Candidates who choose either the Bachelor of Science in Administration (B.Sc.) or the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) as their first choice are strongly encouraged to choose the Bachelor of Arts program as their second choice to improve their chances of being admitted.
Candidates must choose subjects from the provided list of bouquets for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program. Subject bouquets of up to four (4) can be chosen, in that order.
All applicants to the BA program are required to take three subjects at Level 100, two each at Level 200 and 300, and either two or one at Level 400.
The Fee-paying Scheme is an option available to qualified applicants for the Bachelor’s degree at the Legon Campus who fall short of the competitive cut-off points set by the Admissions Board for admission to desired programs of study. On their application forms, interested candidates must select this option.
With effect from the 2017–2018 academic year, Mature Students Admission has been reintroduced into the Bachelor of Arts Distance Education (DE) Programme.
Applications must all be made online.
All applicants will be considered on the basis of result equivalents as provided by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission(GTEC), as per the schedule below:

1. The following requirements are acceptable for admission: SSSCE/WASSCE: Senior Secondary School Certificates (French) Baccalauréat IB stands for International Baccalaureate.’ A’ and ‘O’ Levels for the GCE (Cambridge)’A’ Levels and GCSE Examinations for Grade 12 in American High Schools
2. Additional credentials from outside sources that are equivalent to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels). All applicants will be admitted to Level 100.
3. All applicants who have ever attended or graduated with a Certificate/Diploma from the University of Ghana from 1996 to date should indicate their STUDENT IDENTITY NUMBERS on their application forms.
4. Beginning with the 2007/2008 academic year, the University of Ghana no longer admits candidates with Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificates from the West African Examination Council.
