Blamed but Blameless – poem

Blamed but Blameless

I am blamed but blameless

I am here, you are there

Look at me well

What do you see?

Blame? Blame me if you want to

I have done all the evil you can think of

Yet I am blamed but blameless

Hang me on the cross if you want

I deserve the cross you say

Crucify him, yes do it now

I am not worthy to live

Kill me if you want

I am sinful; I have committed all the ugly sins

But I know someone who does not blame me

I am blamed but blameless

He is welcoming and kind

He loves me but hates what I do

He tells me all the time that He is love

He loves me, He paid the price for my sins

He cleared my bank account of all my iniquities

He smiled at me and said “I am Jesus”

I have made you blameless

I died on the cross to redeem you

God thank you for your gift of Jesus
