Labourer jailed 15 years for defiling 2 year old girl

A 29-year-old farm labourer Kwame Oppong, alias, Kyekyeku has been jailed 15 years for defiling a 2-year-old girl.
The sentence was handed at the Asante Bekwai Circuit Court as the accused was asked to go and serve 180 months with hard labour.
He was pronounced guilty by the court after trial. Meanwhile, he was acquitted and discharged on a charge of indecent assault.
Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Ofori, the prosecutor informed the court that Mark Tair-ima Diboro, the father of the little girl lodged a complainant about the crime. They lived with the convict at Manso.

However, a search party was organized. The complainant got a hint that the little girl was seen with the convict. He was seen entering his room with the baby.

REGISTER YOUR WARD NOWWhen the complainant rushed into the room, Kwame Oppong was found naked while the baby was also half-naked and lying together with the convict on his bed.
An alarm was raised which attracted others, including Oppong’s brother. Oppong was picked up and taken to the police station with his nakedness to lodge an official complaint.

He said a police medical report form was issued for the victim to be sent to the hospital the hymen of the baby was partially broken, and that bleeding and mild bruises at the genitalia were established.

However, Oppong has denied the offense in his caution statement. He told the police that he was naked because he had just returned from a funeral and was only changing into another dress.
