How To Apply To GCTU Undergraduate Admission And Requirements
It is announced to prospective Applicants and the General Public that applications are invited for the study of Degree, and Diploma programmes for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
Applicants who meet entry requirements, and applicants awaiting the wassce and other qualifying results are eligible to apply.
Entry Requirements for Degree Programmes
- WASSCE/SSSCE- Applicants must have grades A1- C6/A-C in six (6) subjects. This includes English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies, and any three elective subjects which are relevant to the applicant’s area of study.
- ‘O’ Level/’A’ Level – credits in at least five (5) subjects at the GCE’O Level for its equivalent including English Language and Mathematics, plus at least three (3) credit passes in the relevant subjects at the Advanced level.
- GBCE – credit passes in Business Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects.
- Department’s specific requirements shall apply.
Other Certifications for Degree Programmes
- Stage 1 of ACCA, ICA, Associates of Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) with five (5) credits at GBCE or GCE O’ Level including English language and Mathematics.
- American Grade 12.
- City & Guilds Technician Diploma/Advanced Diploma in relevant area of study.
- International Baccalaureate (IB)/Diploma holders will go through a compulsory three (3) months English Proficiency class before starting their programme. They should also submit both the original and translated versions of their results slips.
- Department’s specific requirements shall apply.
Entry Requirements for “Top Up Degree” Applicants
- Higher National Diploma (HND) relevant to the programme of study from a recognized Institution will be placed in either Level 200 or Level 300 accordingly.
- GCTU Diploma in the relevant specialization.
- Verifiable Diploma relevant to the programme of study from accredited tertiary institutions. This will be assessed on an individual basis and will need verification from the GTEC and student will be placed in either Level 200 or Level 300 accordingly.

Entry Requirements for Diploma Programmes
- WASSCE applicants must have grades “A1 – D7” in six (6) subjects. This includes English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies, and any three elective subjects which are relevant to the applicant’s area of study.
- SSSCE/GBCE applicants must have grades “A – D* in six (6) subjects. This includes English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies, and any three elective subjects which are relevant to the applicant’s area of study.
- Department’s specific requirements shall apply.
- Students holding qualifications in: General Arts, General Science, Agricultural Science, Visual Arts, Home Economics, Business, NABPTEX and Technical are eligible to apply.
How to Apply
- Visit www.gctuedu.gh and apply online by paying for the application forms via MoMo and submit completed application forms online, or dial *924″200*3# to purchse voucher and apply.
- Purchase a GCTU Application form of GHc200 at any CBG Bank branch and obtain the application form at any of the University’s campuses, or, download the application form online. And the completed application form must be submitted to the Admissions Office of any of the university’s campuses

All completed forms with certified copies of certificates/Result slips/Transcripts must be submitted not later than 30th December 2023
