How to merge Ghana Card and SSNIT Number with Shortcode

Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) number and that of the  National Identification Authority Card (NIA)  can not be merged in Ghana using the shortcode (USSD) and the procedure provided below.

For anyone to successfully merge both IDs, he or she must have the NIA/Ghana Card number and the SSNIT number/card.

How to merge Ghana Card and SSNIT Number with Shortcode

  1. On your Mobile, dial *711*9#
  2. Select option 1 (Merge NIA number with SSNIT number)
  3. Enter your number
  4. Enter your NIA number (Personal ID number on your Ghana Card)
  5. Select option 1 Confirm
  6. Wait for the confirmation message (Your confirmation message will be sent via email/SMS)

Congratulations if you have gone through the process outlined above. Take note that, 31st December 2021 is the last date for the merging and from 1st January 2022, your SSNIT card will not be valid for the purposes of pension and related services at the SSNIT.

Take proactive steps and merge your Ghana Card and SSNIT Number now. Visit the NIA office near you to get your new NIA Card or get the missing one replaced so that you can merge it with your SSNIT number.
