Ugandan Activist Sets Guinness World Record by Hugging Tree for 16 Hours

Faith Patricia Ariokot, a 29-year-old environmental activist from Kampala, Uganda, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a Guinness World Record for the longest time spent hugging a tree. Hugging Tree for 16 hours is the new  Guinness World Record.

Faith’s determination led her to embrace a tree trunk for an astonishing 16 hours and 6 seconds, making her the first official holder of this record. Her motivation behind this endeavor was to inspire others to join the cause of tree planting and underscore the critical importance of preserving our planet’s greenery.

In Faith’s own words, “They are the greatest soldiers in the fight against climate change.” Her connection with the chosen tree was profound, describing the selection process akin to choosing a bridal dress. “The tree chose me, and it was like love at first sight,” she expressed. “When I saw the tree, I knew it was the one I would go for.”
