Flashback: Teacher Jailed 7 Years For Defilement

The Tarkwa Circuit Court has sentenced Kingsley Acquah, a Ghanaian teacher to jail over defilement and impregnating a 15 year old girl, known as Acquah. The teacher has been sentenced to seven (7) years in prison with hardlabour.

Throughout the trial, Acquah vehemently maintained his innocence, but the weight of evidence proved insurmountable. Presiding over the case, Judge Hathia Ama Manu solemnly declared Acquah guilty, condemning him for preying upon the vulnerability of his young victim.

Superintendent Juliana Essel-Dadzie, the prosecution’s formidable voice, outlined a chilling narrative of exploitation and betrayal. The victim’s own mother, a seamstress by trade, stood as a pillar of strength in the face of injustice, bravely recounting the atrocities inflicted upon her daughter.

Acquah’s tenure at a local private school provided him with unfettered access to his victim, a final year Junior High School student preparing for her Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). As the victim and her peers sought sanctuary within the school’s confines, Acquah schemed to violate that sanctity, luring the unsuspecting girl into his quarters.

The prosecution painted a grim tableau of coercion and abuse as Acquah callously defiled the innocence of his young victim. The aftermath was stained with the crimson of her blood, a stark testament to the brutality of his actions.

Tragically, the victim’s torment did not end with the violation of her body. Unbeknownst to her, the despicable act bore fruit in the form of an unwanted pregnancy, shattering her dreams and robbing her of her youth.

Only when the truth emerged, shrouded in the shadows of sickness and suspicion, did the victim find the courage to speak out. Her mother, a beacon of unwavering support, rallied to her side, and together they confronted the horrors of Acquah’s depravity.
