The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has, as part of its effort to expand its student base and introduce new graduate and undergraduate programmes that match the demand for modern work in the area of health and science, introduced new programmes for business, agriculture, science, and general arts students at the first-degree level.
What are the KNUST new graduate and undergraduate programmes for the 2024-2025 academic year?
Here are some examples of these programmes:
Post-first degree LLB.
Applicants must satisfy the university’s general requirements for admission into degree programmes.
Applicants with degree qualifications in any discipline may apply.
The KNUST will schedule an entrance examination for the short-listed applicants, and they must pass it to be considered for admission.
When applying for this program, applicants will need to attach one of the following to their application.
- The WASSCE/SSCE, A or O level results or certificates are available.
- Degree certificate
The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program is currently accepting top-up and HND mature applicants.
The KNUST’s Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) targets students seeking top-up programs, as well as mature HND applicants.
An applicant must first satisfy the university’s general requirements for admission into degree programmes.
The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programme is a 2-year top-up for only pharmacists. When applying, applicants must attach the following documents:
- The WASSCE/SSCE, A or O level results or certificates are available.
- Degree certificate (BPharm)
- HND Certificate
- Pharmacy Technician Practicing Certificate.
After applying, all shortlisted applicants must take an entrance exam.

Other new programmes introduced are as follows:
- Bachelor of Public Administration (for general arts, business, general science, visual arts, and home economics students from SHS.
- BSc Dietetics (for Science and Home economics students from SHS)
- BSc Human Nutrition (For (for Science and Home economics students from SHS)
- BSc Information Technology
The university has indicated that these programmes will provide graduates with the needed knowledge and education for the changing dynamics of work in various fields.

WASSCE candidates must pass their examination and have the relevant grades to stand a chance of being offered admission into these programmes.
