SHS students will soon require testimonial for university admission – MoE
The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum says Senior High School graduates seeking to further their education at the tertiary level will soon be asked to provide a testimonial to be given tertiary admission.
Speaking at the Ghana Teacher Prize held on October 5, 2024, he said the introduction of the testimonial forms part of the central government’s effort to curb the increasing rate of student violence in Senior High Schools.
“We want zero tolerance for indiscipline in our high schools. The era when students go on a rampage destroying school properties will soon be over because we are going to be working with tertiary institutions to ensure that when you’re moving from high school the university or training college, you will provide a testimonial that will state your character. Indiscipline should not be tolerated anywhere in our schools,” he stated.
